Weekly Update: 8/17/2008

COMING SOON: Live, real-time, performance figures!

Time connected to the grid: 110 hrs
Electricity produced: 115.00 kWH
Utility meter reads: 2214
Comments: I have added load to the system so that the utility meter runs slightly forward. This is because at the end of the year, if there is a negative value, (We've produced more power than used on location) we lose it ... no reimbursement. Therefore, the best practice is to owe a small amount to the utility company at the end of the year. To add load, I've transferred all of the outbuildings, well pump and koi pond air and water circulator pump to the solar system. This results in a load slightly exceeding the output of the solar power system ... a good thing.
